💰 Residency Tax by Nationality

How much is the residency tax in Turkey? +

How much does a residence permit in Turkey cost? Residence permit fees (ikamet harcı) are based on the principle of reciprocity, so the residency fee depends on your nationality and on the type of short-term residence permit — tourist, real estate, family or medical. The fees below are valid from 01/01/2026, as determined by the General Communiqué on the Fees Law published in the Official Gazette No. 33124 dated 31 December 2025 by the Presidency of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi).

Residence card fee — applies to all nationalities: For every nationality, a residence card fee of 964 TL is added to the residence permit application fee. Nationalities that are exempt from the residency fee pay only this 964 TL residence card fee.
Standard residence permit fee — first month 25 USD · each additional month 5 USD
This standard residency fee applies to most nationalities, including the citizens of any country not listed in the special reciprocity groups below.

Reduced residence permit fees for specific nationalities:

First month 14 USD · each additional month 3.5 USD
Albania, Cambodia, Israel, Japan, Mali, North Macedonia, Oman, Philippines, Tajikistan
First month 9 USD · each additional month 2.5 USD
Algeria, Belarus, Belgium, Jordan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Malta, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan
First month 7 USD · each additional month 1.5 USD
Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Micronesia, Russia, South Korea
First month 5 USD · each additional month 0.5 USD
Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Iraq, Montenegro, Morocco, Tunisia

Residency fee exemption: student residence permits and humanitarian residence permits — as well as certain nationalities — are exempt from the residence permit fee in Turkey; in that case only the 964 TL residence card fee is paid.
